Hi there, my name is David Doonan and I am Head of Music at
Castlederg High School.
All too often in life I find that people are quick to complain yet
slow to praise and I do not agree with this. It was with this in mind that
I write to you today to place on record my thanks (and admiration) for the
work of Derek Rainey and Andy McGregor. Derek has been more than
supportive of my efforts to encourage and nurture out culture within my
music department. To these ends he has sent us Andy McGregor who has been
an inspiration to the kids of our school. The school has been that
impressed with the progress that has been made, that they have agreed to
buy 8 sets of Bagpipes (with a view to the school having it's own concert
band).
Up until now I had little or no experience of the Ulster Scots
Agency, but with people like Derek and Andy working for you, I would have
no hesitation in recommending any of my collegues to inviting them in to
their schools to give of their expertise.
